LumenRT 4.1 Studio works with both SketchUp Free and SketchUp Pro (versions 7-8), Bentley Microstation SS3, Autodesk Revit 20 and will import models saved in all major 3D formats. Materials that use these nodes can use the Ray Tracing Quality Switch node to provide a version of the Material that works with Lumen Surface Cache, or to. LumenRT users have reported transformative results with higher client win percentages, improved quality, and fewer downstream errors. e-on software, the maker of the popular 3D nature scenery products and technology is the company behind LumenRT Studio.Į-on software says that the primary value proposition of LumenRT Immersive Nature is to win business by packing ideas and designs into compelling stories. LumenRT is a comprehensive system for transforming 3D models and designs into rich, nature-filled animations, images and real-time immersive experiences.
That being said, you can in fact import your Revit model without 3DS Max – as long as you don't mind re-applying textures/materials in Lumion.01 - LumenRT 4.1 Studio adds additional features, better Bentley Microstation support, improved Mac OS X performance and more.
I'm not 100% sure what the most effective MaxScript for material conversion is, but there's a few free ones you could try out on ScriptSpot etc.Īgain, the problem is that Revit is using MentalRay materials, and only the custom-made FBX importer in 3DS Max knows how to interpret those material types. Unfortunately, the FBX and Collada exporters in 3DS Max have no clue what to do with other material types such as those used by Vray/MentalRay, so that's why you simply get a white model in Lumion.įor that reason, my suggestion to you, Jan-Willem, is to try to convert the MentalRay materials to Standard materials in 3DS Max, and then export the model to. Revit -> max -> Lumion is not the best way and generates errors byĪs far as I know, the problem stems from the fact that Revit uses MentalRay materials and when you import a Revit FBX file in 3DS Max the materials are preserved as MentalRay materials. If i import the same Revit-FBX into max i have textures. When i export a FBX file from Revit (2011) to Lumion there are no textures, but only a white model.
Keep up with the good work!!!! But fix FBX export for Revit into Lumion, is a MUST if you want to sell and target Architects as well as the architectural visualization community. Other than that I think this software is amazing. I think this issue has to be resolve ASAP since this software( Lumion) is target to Architects ( we need  easy and fast workflows-there is no need to use extra software or re-apply textures). I was wondering if Lumion staff is resolving this issue, since most of the Architectural firms right now are doing the transition from Autocad to Revit, and in order to use Revit files into Lumion, these companies may have to purchase 3d max in order to use revit files into Lumion (and I don't think that would be practical, affordable and a good selling point). This is not good since you have to use an extra software (like 3d max) in order to use Revit models in Lumion Staff I work with architects that only use Revit for 3d modelling, renderins and Construction Documentation, they do not use 3d max. I just read in the forum that the only way to export Revit fbx files to Lumion is via 3d max.
